A Quiet Practice,
Deeply Considered

Palor was shaped around the belief that the spaces we inhabit have an effect on how we feel — and that this matters.

Our Story

How Palor Came to Be

Palor began in Kuala Lumpur as a small practice focused on one question: what would it mean to design a home the way a good host arranges a room — with care for the person who will be in it?

The name comes from the old idea of a parlour — a space set apart for gathering, for considered conversation, for the small pleasures of being at ease. That spirit shapes how we work: attentive, unhurried, and always oriented toward the person who lives in the space.

Over years of working with clients across Kuala Lumpur, we've come to know a great deal about how people use their homes — and how rarely those homes are designed around that knowledge. We set out to change that, one thoughtful project at a time.

Today Palor takes on residential commissions and intimate commercial spaces. We're a small studio by choice. That scale lets us give each project the quality of attention it deserves.

Our Mission

To design interiors that feel genuinely personal — spaces where the inhabitant's character is visible, where comfort is built in, and where daily life feels a little more pleasurable.

Our Values

  • Attentiveness before aesthetics
  • Honesty about what works and what doesn't
  • Craft that outlasts trends
  • A calm, respectful working relationship

Standards

How We Hold Ourselves to Account

Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers

Our studio operates in accordance with MIID professional standards and ethical guidelines for the interior design industry in Malaysia.

Client Confidentiality

The details of your home and our work together remain private. We do not share photographs or project information without explicit permission.

Clear Agreements

Every engagement begins with a written agreement that outlines scope, timeline, fees, and revision terms. No ambiguity, no surprises.

Material Sourcing Transparency

We're open about where materials come from, who makes them, and what they cost. Clients have full visibility into procurement.

Responsible Material Choices

Where quality and durability permit, we favour materials that are responsibly sourced, with lower environmental impact and local provenance.

Ongoing Communication

We check in regularly throughout a project, not just at milestones. You should always know where things stand without having to ask.

About Our Practice

Palor is an interior design studio based in the Imbi area of Kuala Lumpur. The studio serves residential clients and small commercial venues across the Klang Valley, with a particular focus on spaces where atmosphere and personal character matter.

Our work spans initial spatial consultation through to complete design composition and construction-phase support. We bring knowledge of local suppliers, trusted tradespeople, and the particular character of KL living to every project — qualities that shape what is possible and what will genuinely hold up over time.

Interior design in Malaysia carries its own sensibilities — the relationship between indoor and outdoor space, the quality of afternoon light, the importance of natural materials in a warm climate. Our approach is shaped by these realities, not by imported references that work elsewhere but feel slightly off here.

Each project moves at a pace that allows for considered decisions. We work closely with a small number of clients at any given time, which means the attention you receive is genuine rather than managed.
